đĒ In your journey through life, never despise the value of experience. People's advice is often forged through pain, victory, and hindsight â and thereâs wisdom in learning from others.
But never forget that sometimes,
certain pieces of advice may be well-meaning but irrelevant. Some may come from people playing an entirely different game.
It might sound right, feel familiar â even come from a respected mentor â yet still miss your unique context.
It could even be a similar situation, and the idea may have worked in the 90s'
but today? Itâs redundant â and totally inapplicable.
Other times, the advice might not apply at all.
You canât take coaching lessons from a boxingđĨtrainer when youâre preparing as a football (soccer)âŊđĨ
athlete.
You have a coach â quite alright.
You have a mentor â and thatâs wonderful.
But the rules of the game of boxing donât apply to football.
In one, you get points for inflicting pain.
In the other, you get fined for the same action.
So yes, get a coach. Yes, pursue mentorship.
But choose with discernment.
Choose your mentors carefully.
Choose your coaches wisely.
Filter advice properly â and apply it accordingly.
I'm still rooting for you.
Weâll definitely talk soonđ
