Why Your Mindset Matters More Than the Market

I was in a meeting on X recently where someone was asked what skill he was into.

He replied, “It used to be graphic design, but I’m not doing it anymore the field is oversaturated.”

Out of curiosity, I checked his page to see what he’s working on now. But honestly, that’s not even the point.

The real point is this: your mindset matters.

I always tell my friend who is like a big brother, “There’s money in this skill. I just can’t wait to tap into it fully.”

Because the more people I see entering this space, the more I’m reminded that people are actually making money here.

To me, oversaturation isn’t a dead end. It’s proof that there’s value.

And with focus, consistency, and faith, I believe I’ll thrive even more with my skill.

Here’s why mindset is important:

📌 It shapes how you interpret challenges (oversaturation can look like scarcity or opportunity).

📌 It controls your persistence (whether you give up or keep showing up).

📌 It determines the results you attract (your belief affects how you show up daily).


Your mindset is the lens through which you see everything. Change the lens, and you change the outcome.

Have you ever been that person who finds writing difficult?

You want to say something, but the words don’t come out right. You overthink, delete, and wonder if writing is “just not for you.”

That was me.

So I found comfort in graphic design visuals felt easier. They spoke for me when words failed.

But here’s the twist: even as a designer, I realized I couldn’t escape writing.

Because design alone doesn’t sell.

Marketing needs words.
Copywriting needs words.
Content needs words.

If I wanted to show up and make an impact, I had to face the thing I’d been running from.

That’s why I joined the 21-Day Content Writing Challenge with Brandevo.

At first, I doubted myself.

Some nights I stayed up late, tired from school, nursing, and design,
staring at a blank page.

Other days, I wrote and still felt like my words weren’t enough.
But I kept showing up.

Slowly, things began to shift.

Day by day, writing became less scary.

I started gaining clarity about my brand.

Even the colors I picked and the designs I created began to feel more intentional.

Each post became a seed small, but leaving a mark.

And then the moment came.

And today, I’m celebrating a win I never thought possible:

Now this. A writing challenge.

It’s proof that when you keep showing up even when it’s uncomfortable,

even when you don’t feel ready growth will always meet you on the other side.

I’m beyond grateful to God for the strength to finish, to the organizers for the opportunity, and to myself for not giving up.

And as I celebrate this, another challenge is right in front of me: my midwifery professional exam this Tuesday. Please, say a word of prayer for me 🙏

So here’s my reminder to you:
Don’t wait until you feel ready.

Don’t wait until you’re “good enough.”
Start.
Show up.
Stay consistent.

Because one day, you’ll look back and realize the very thing that once scared you became the thing that grew you.

For me, projects like this aren’t just about “making it pretty.” A good design should solve problems capture attention, communicate clearly, and make people want to open that book.
